Registered Nurse Details

• Full time schedule, 11 hr shifts.  7 days on, 7 days off.
• Day shift – 9 am to 8:30 pm
• 13 week contract opportunity with the option to extend. 
• MAT Program

Registered Nurse Duties

• Work as a member of the correctional medical staff to provide care to patients.
• Follow direction of Provider to ensure care is provided in a timely manner.
• Med Pass, wound care, and triage.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of providers, COs, and social workers to manage the daily operations of the MAT clinic, including patient screening, medication diversion prevention, and withdrawal symptom monitoring using the COWS/CIWA scales

Registered Nurse Qualifications
 

• Active Alaska RN license.
• Current BLS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of experience working as an RN.
• Prior experience working in corrections health is preferred.
• Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Expertise: Proven experience in the induction, stabilization, and maintenance of patients on Buprenorphine (Suboxone) and Naltrexone (Vivitrol).
• Withdrawal Management: Proficiency in utilizing standardized assessment tools such as the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) and Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA)
• Emergency Response: Ability to act quickly and calmly during overdose reversals (utilizing Narcan/Naloxone) or psychiatric crises.
