Dental Assistant Details
- On-site position in Rockwood, TN
- Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm CST
- 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
- 12-month contract, renewable
- Regional travel may be required
Dental Assistant Duties
- Assist dentist chairside during examination and treatment of patients
- Prepare patients and operatories for dental procedures and provide post-treatment care and education
- Expose and develop radiographs in compliance with infection control and safety guidelines
- Schedule appointments, answer telephones, and organize daily schedule
- Review and record medical history, patient dental conditions, and treatments
- Compile information from patients, families, and community resources regarding patient health and dental needs
- Provide patient education in proper oral hygiene procedures
- Coordinate and develop community outreach and oral health activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and TDH guidelines
Dental Assistant Qualifications
- Current registration as a dental assistant in the State of Tennessee with Dental Radiology Certification required
- Current CPR certification required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Coronal polishing, sealant application, and nitrous oxide monitoring certifications preferred
- Must be a current Tennessee resident or willing to relocate prior to start
- Community outreach and patient education experience a plus
