PA Details

• Full Time Schedules

• Some weekends may be required

• 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility

• Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

PA Duties

• Conducting comprehensive medical evaluations, physical examinations, and intake health assessments

• Diagnosing, triaging, and managing acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as addressing psychological needs during incarceration

• Formulating and implementing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic labs and imaging

• Prescribing medications, performing minor clinical procedures, managing wound care, and coordinating specialized care as needed

• Serving as a clinical leader and responder in medical emergency and crisis situations

• Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and correctional personnel to ensure comprehensive, high-quality patient care

PA Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program

• Active, unencumbered Physician Assistant (PA) license issued by the State Board in which the position is located

• Current NCCPA certification and active DEA registration

• 1+ year of relevant Physician Assistant experience (corrections, urgent care, primary care, or emergency medicine preferred)
