Registered Nurse - Wasilla, AK

We have a night shift Infirmary opening in Wasilla — Alaska’s largest correctional facility — and we’re looking for a confident, autonomous clinician to fill it.

Registered Nurse Details

• 1 opening — night shift, Infirmary unit
• Night shift: 8:00 pm to 7:30 am (11.5-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract with option to extend
• Start: end of October/beginning of November
• Location: Wasilla, Alaska (Mat-Su Valley)

Registered Nurse Duties

• Provide medical monitoring and care for higher-acuity patients in the correctional Infirmary
• Follow direction of Provider to ensure care is provided in a timely manner
• Med pass, wound care, triage, and acute care management
• Function autonomously as the primary clinical presence on the Infirmary overnight

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license (or actively pursuing)
• Current BLS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of experience working as an RN; acute care background strongly preferred
• Comfortable with autonomous clinical decision-making on nights
• Prior corrections or step-down/infirmary experience a plus
• Must be able to clear a State of Alaska background check
• Covid vaccine not required

Compensation

• Local rate: $63.00/hr
• Travel package: $23.00/hr + $1,500/week lodging + $300/week meals and incidentals
• OT paid at 1.5x after 8 hours per shift
