  • Contractor must be a licensed registered dietitian with the State of California.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in clinical dietetic work which, can include but, may not be limited to long-term care, acute care or community care service

SPECIFICATIONS/DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF WORK

1. ASSESSMENTS

Under the supervision of the Director of Dietetic Services and/or Assistant Director of Dietetic Services, Nutrition assessments, follow up assessments and related client care activities will be conducted according to PDC and Dietetic Services Department policy and procedure directives as well as other regulatory agencies such as Title 22 California Code Regulations and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process. Comprehensive Nutrition Assessments are required minimally upon admission and once every five years. Nutrition assessments are required annually for all clients.

2. CLINICAL RECORD PROGRESS REPORTS

In addition to Admission and Annual Nutrition Assessments, Registered Dietitians will review clients' progress and provide nutrition care and documentation quarterly, monthly or more frequently as designated by acuity level, policy specification, or other medical indications presenting.

3. TREATMENT PLANS

Based on nutrition assessments or follow up assessments, the Registered Dietitian will provide written treatment goals to the Planning Treatment Team, prior to team meetings for each client as needed. The Registered Dietitian will provide training to staff when needed, for proper implementation of both short and long-term goals.

4. CONSULTATION, IN-SERVICE TRAINING AND CLIENT EDUCATION

The Registered Dietitian will directly or indirectly participate in the planning treatment teams (including Individual Program Planning [IPP]) to advocate for the client's nutritional needs. In addition, the Registered Dietitian will provide nutrition care related in-service training to direct care staff as needed and to persons responsible for food preparation. The Registered Dietitian may also provide nutrition classes and training to clients as deemed necessary by PortervilleDevelopmental Center (PDC) Project Representative or designee. All training provided to a client will be documented in the client's clinical record. Examples of these classes and training are: Weight Management, Diabetes Education, Healthy Nutrition Practice, etc.

5. INSPECTIONS

The Registered Dietitian will participate in quality assurance activities as directed by the Director of Dietetics or Project Representative as designated by the Dietetic Services Department. Registered Dietitians are required to submit a monthly report documenting work completed.
