Registered Nurse (RN) – Mental Health

Our client is currently seeking RNs to work in Danville, VA and throughout the state of Virginia (Note: Facilities are in the general vicinity of each city and may require travel time)
Cell Staff is currently seeking contract nurses to work in psychiatric, medical/surgical, and geropsychiatric inpatient programs. Accept the challenge to influence the care we provide to individuals and their families. By joining our care providers to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will help provide active treatment and ensure appropriate care to individuals with a variety of physical and psychiatric diagnoses.
The knowledge and skills required for success in these positions are knowledge of professional nursing standards, progressive professional nursing experience in leadership, supervision, and management of nursing staff. Nursing experience related to the area of interest in mental health, forensic mental health, or mental retardation fields is desirable. Licensing or eligible for licensing as a Registered Nurse in Virginia is required.
-Full Time/ 8hr shifts
-5 days/week, 40hrs/week
-Select facilities offer 12hr shifts, working on a 36hr/ 48hr schedule
-13 and 26 week contract
-Available to work 1st and 2nd Shifts (rotating), weekends, and Commonwealth of Virginia Holidays
-Have worked for a DBHDS facility and will be current on all applicable trainings/certifications through, at least, January 9th, 2018. (these trainings/certifications include, but are not necessarily limited to, TOVA, Human Rights, Bloodborne Pathogens, Crisis Stabilization, etc.; and have documented experience with DBHDS' Electronic Health Record, OneMind.)
-Performing health screenings and physical examinations.
-Triaging, assessing, and treating inmates' chronic, acute, psychological, and medical needs.
-Assessing and providing mental health care including patient assessments/evaluations.
-Administering medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions as directed by medical staff.
-Serving as first responder in emergency and crisis situations.
-Performing other general nursing duties such as cardiac monitoring, catheter management, venipuncture, IVs, diabetics lines, ect.
-Graduation from an accredited educational institution, possessing a diploma, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the State of Virginia Board of Nursing.
-Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Virginia. Must be in good standing.
– 1+ year of relevant experience. No new grads.
