Registered Nurse (RN) – Mental Health/Psych

Our client is currently seeking RNs to work in the Hopkinsville, KY area and throughout the state of Kentucky. (Note: Facilities are in the general vicinity of each city and may require travel time)
• Full-Time Schedule
• 8 or 12 Hour shifts depending on the facility
• Every other weekend
• Ongoing contracts
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB CLASSIFICATION:
Performs acts requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skill based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences. Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in the provision of patient care. Provides care, counsel and health teaching to the ill injured or infirmed. Promotes health maintenance and prevention of illness. Performs medical treatment and administers medications as prescribed. Interviews when emergency care is required. Supervises, teaches and delegates to other personnel the performance of nursing care activities. Supervises nurse applicants and unlicensed personnel who administer medications. Serves as a member of and communicates with patient's individual treatment team. Assists medical and other professionals in the provision of care. Investigates and reports on unusual incidents involving patient care. Performs nursing assessments on new admissions. Documents essential entries on essential records. Checks lab work orders and specimens prior to submission to the laboratory. Conducts formal training programs and attends in-service training. Accounts for medications upon assuming and leaving duties. Explains plan of care to patients and families. Schedules patient's treatment in other units/facilities. Follows established policies and procedures of employing facility/agency.
• Graduation from an accredited educational institution, possessing a diploma, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Kentucky or Compact State. Must be in good standing.
• 1+ year of relevant experience. No new grads.
